How do I plant my tree?

Step 1:

Make a planting hole twice the size of the tree's root ball/pot.

Step 2:

Break up the walls of the dug hole with the shovel.

Step 3:

Add a planting hole improver if required.

Step 4:

Plant the tree as high as it was in the container.

Step 5:

Make a raised border around the tree with soil for easy watering.

Step 6:

Place two tree stakes a 30cm from the tree and attach them to the stakes with natural binding material.

Step 7:

Clear a 1-metre diameter tree bed of plantings and keep it that way for the first few years.

Step 8:

During the dry period, water densely, on average 10 litres once a week. If in doubt, always contact us.

A planting leaflet is included with every delivery.

Advice:

The average walnut tree does not like a wet location, so make sure you plant it at a slightly higher spot in your garden so that the tree does not end up in a puddle of water during the winter.

About Chinese date tree jujuba

Ziziphus jujuba is a versatile plant also known as the Chinese Date Tree. It is not only its whimsical appearance that makes the tree special but especially the dates that the Ziziphus gives. Its whimsical appearance is a beautiful feature for gardens or parks. In addition, the Ziziphus has a beautiful bloom of cream-coloured small flowers. It is a slow-growing tree that often does not grow taller than about 6-8 metres.

 

Quality of the date

After flowering in May-June, fleshy drupes develop that turn reddish-brown when they ripen. This fruit is good to eat and also very healthy. In oriental drawers, Chinese dates are also used as medicine for various ailments such as fatigue. They are also used as an ingredient in many dishes.

    De boom is goed verpakt aangekomen. Op dit moment is deze nog kaal, dus ik kan er voorlopig nog weinig over zeggen. Hopelijk komen de bladeren binnenkort.
