How do I plant my tree?

Step 1:

Make a planting hole twice the size of the tree's root ball/pot.

Step 2:

Break up the walls of the dug hole with the shovel.

Step 3:

Add a planting hole improver if required.

Step 4:

Plant the tree as high as it was in the container.

Step 5:

Make a raised border around the tree with soil for easy watering.

Step 6:

Place two tree stakes a 30cm from the tree and attach them to the stakes with natural binding material.

Step 7:

Clear a 1-metre diameter tree bed of plantings and keep it that way for the first few years.

Step 8:

During the dry period, water densely, on average 10 litres once a week. If in doubt, always contact us.

A planting leaflet is included with every delivery.

Advice:

The average walnut tree does not like a wet location, so make sure you plant it at a slightly higher spot in your garden so that the tree does not end up in a puddle of water during the winter.

About the Corylus Halle'sche Riesen hazelnut tree

The Halle'sche Riesen is a classic and highly prized hazelnut tree that originates from Germany and has been cultivated in gardens and orchards since the 19th century. The tree is not self-pollinating, so it is recommended to plant another hazelnut tree nearby to ensure good fruit production. The Halle'sche Riesen grows to a height of approx. 3-5 metres. The tree is hardy to (approx. -25°C).

 

About the nut

The Halle'sche Riesen is known for its large, tasty hazelnuts. The nuts ripen from mid-September to early October, after which they fall out of their husks and are ready to be harvested. The nuts are generally larger than many other varieties, with a broad or slightly elongated shape. The nuts are firm and have a medium-sized shell that protects them well. The hazelnuts have a long shelf life and an aromatic nutty flavour, which can be eaten fresh or used in cooking.

    Haben einen Haselnussbaum "Haller'sche Riesen gekauft, kam sehr schnell und super verpackt an. Der Hasel ist gut gewachsen und der Ballen gut durchwurzelt.
    Sehr gute Ware!!!
    Kann ich nur empfehlen.
