The Carya i. ‘Choctaw’ is a hardy tree native to America. The Choctaw is known for its sweet flavour and crunchy nut. After 4 years, the first fruits appear. The Carya i. ‘Pawnee’ or ‘Western Schley’ are good pollinators and also fruit-bearing.
These hardy bred Carya varieties originated in North America and later spread originally by the Indians. This combination of species ensures a good pollination of all these 3 varieties as well!
