How do I plant my tree?

Step 1:

Make a planting hole twice the size of the tree's root ball/pot.

Step 2:

Break up the walls of the dug hole with the shovel.

Step 3:

Add a planting hole improver if required.

Step 4:

Plant the tree as high as it was in the container.

Step 5:

Make a raised border around the tree with soil for easy watering.

Step 6:

Place two tree stakes a 30cm from the tree and attach them to the stakes with natural binding material.

Step 7:

Clear a 1-metre diameter tree bed of plantings and keep it that way for the first few years.

Step 8:

During the dry period, water densely, on average 10 litres once a week. If in doubt, always contact us.

A planting leaflet is included with every delivery.

Advice:

The average walnut tree does not like a wet location, so make sure you plant it at a slightly higher spot in your garden so that the tree does not end up in a puddle of water during the winter.

The Japanese wineberry ‘Rubus phoenicolasius’ is a unique berry shrub known for its striking red-haired branches and tasty wineberries. In the spring, the plant blooms with graceful white-pink flowers that attract many bees and other pollinators. Starting in the summer, the characteristic red berries appear, and thanks to its vigorous growth, the plant produces a bountiful harvest every year. The Japanese wineberry is hardy and easy to care for. The plant thrives best in a sunny to partially shaded location in well-drained, nutrient-rich soil.

 


Berry Quality

The berries of Rubus phoenicolasius are small, glossy red in color, and have a soft, juicy texture. The flavor is sweet with a fresh, slightly tart undertone. The berries ripen in the summer and are easy to pick because they detach from their characteristic red calyx.
