It is a selection found in Neer in Limburg (Netherlands). The tree is suitable for general use. For many years, this tree has been planted as a standard variety. The tree sprouts late and is a strong grower with an upright growing crown. The tree likes a sunny and airy location. It is a self-pollinator but is very much planted to pollinate other species for a richer harvest.
Quality of note.
Buccaneer give nice round nuts with good flavour. Suitable for private use and application in a walnut plantation and agroforestry.
