About the Iliana Pomegranate
The young Iliana Pomegranate is a self-pollinating tree selected for its early and abundant fruit yield. The tree has an upright habit and can be planted in a pot or in the ground. The Iliana Pomegranate can be pruned in winter and, if necessary, again in summer. For guaranteed fruit yield, we recommend overwintering the pomegranate tree in a polytunnel or greenhouse and then moving it outside in June. The tree reaches a total height of approximately 5-7 meters.
Pomegranate Quality
The Punica gr. Iliana is one of the tastiest pomegranates, extra dark red in color. Compared to many other varieties, the Iliana ripens in September, which offers a greater guarantee of ripeness in the colder northern climates of Europe.
