How do I plant my tree?

Step 1:

Make a planting hole twice the size of the tree's root ball/pot.

Step 2:

Break up the walls of the dug hole with the shovel.

Step 3:

Add a planting hole improver if required.

Step 4:

Plant the tree as high as it was in the container.

Step 5:

Make a raised border around the tree with soil for easy watering.

Step 6:

Place two tree stakes a 30cm from the tree and attach them to the stakes with natural binding material.

Step 7:

Clear a 1-metre diameter tree bed of plantings and keep it that way for the first few years.

Step 8:

During the dry period, water densely, on average 10 litres once a week. If in doubt, always contact us.

A planting leaflet is included with every delivery.

Advice:

The average walnut tree does not like a wet location, so make sure you plant it at a slightly higher spot in your garden so that the tree does not end up in a puddle of water during the winter.

About Rubus fruticosus 'Thornless Evergreen'

The Thornless Blackberry Rubus fruticosus ‘Thornless Evergreen’ is a vigorous, evergreen blackberry bush known for its thornless branches and abundant yield. In summer, it produces graceful white-pink flowers that attract many bees and other pollinators. The plant then develops delicious, dark blackberries that ripen in late summer. Thanks to its thornless growth, the shrub is easy to care for and the blackberries are simple to pick. The plant grows best in a sunny to partially shaded location in well-drained, nutrient-rich soil.

 


Quality of the Blackberries

The blackberries of ‘Thornless Evergreen’ are large, glossy black in color, and have a juicy, sweet flavor. The fruits ripen from August through September and grow in attractive clusters on the thornless branches.
