From elderflowers to elderberries

In spring and early summer, large clusters of small, light-coloured flowers appear. Later in the season, clusters of dark elderberries develop. The ripe berries are suitable for processing after heating, for example into juice, syrup, jam or jelly.

Elderberry bushes grow vigorously, are very winter hardy and require relatively little care. Give them plenty of space and a sunny to partially shaded position for healthy development.
